MtoZ Biolabs provides Targeted Proteome Quantification Service to support biomarker verification, translational research, and mechanistic studies across preclinical and clinical projects. Using targeted mass spectrometry and high-performance immunoassay platforms, we deliver precise, reproducible quantification of predefined protein panels in a wide range of biological matrices.
Overview
Targeted proteome quantification focuses on accurate, sensitive measurement of a selected set of proteins or peptides rather than profiling the entire proteome. Instead of discovering new proteins on a broad scale, targeted approaches concentrate analytical power on specific markers, pathways, or panels that are already of interest, such as disease biomarkers, drug targets, signaling nodes, or pathway readouts.
In contrast to discovery proteomics, which is primarily designed to maximize proteome coverage, targeted proteomics focuses on quantitative precision, wide dynamic range, and high reproducibility. By predefining transitions or precursor ions of interest, targeted workflows achieve:
- Higher sensitivity for low-abundance proteins
- Wider linear dynamic range suitable for clinical and translational studies
- Lower batch-to-batch variability, ideal for longitudinal and large cohort studies
- Direct quantitative readouts that can be linked to pharmacodynamic effects, disease activity, or treatment response

FAQ
Q1: What types of samples are suitable?
We support a wide range of matrices for targeted proteome quantification, including but not limited to:
- Human and animal serum or plasma
- Other biofluids such as urine, CSF, saliva, synovial fluid, and cell culture supernatant
- Fresh or frozen tissues and tissue lysates
- Isolated cells or cell pellets from in vitro or in vivo studies
Available targets and panel performance may vary by matrix, so we will work with you to confirm feasibility for your specific sample type.
Q2: How should I prepare my samples?
1. Ensure samples are freshly prepared or snap-frozen.
2. Avoid detergents, salts, and reducing agents that may interfere with LC-MS/MS analysis.
3. Store samples at –80 °C before shipment.
4. Transport samples on dry ice to maintain stability during delivery.
Detailed requirements and recommendations can be found in the Sample Submission Guidelines for Proteomics.
